Every unique Timeless Jewel alters passive tree nodes within its radius, based on its seed and name. Glorious Vanity has the modifier Bathed in the blood of (100-8000) sacrificed in the name of (Ahuana-Doryani-Xibaqua), where (100-8000) is the seed, and (Ahuana-Doryani-Xibaqua) is the name.
The seed determines how notable and small passives in the radius of the jewel will be modified, and the name determines how keystones in the radius will be modified. The seed and the name are independent and do not affect each other e.g. a Glorious Vanity with the seed 2894 will always have the same effect on notables and small passives, regardless of what the name is. As with regular Keystones, each modified Keystone can only affect the player once, even if it is allocated multiple times.
You may only equip one unique Timeless Jewel at a time. Each unique version has the tag "Limited to:1 Historic".

Item acquisition
Timeless Jewel has restrictions on where or how it can drop.
The general way to acquire unique Timeless Jewels is from their respective Legions in the Domain of Timeless Conflict. Players need to place at least 2 emblems from different legions in the map device to open the portal to the area. Read the article about emblems for details.
Non-unique Timeless Jewels do not normally drop. Players can obtain a non-unique craftabe Timeless Jewel by corrupting five unique Timeless Jewels into rares, then selling five corrupted rare Timeless Jewel to a vendor for an uncorrupted rare. Since not every corruption outcome is a rare, players need to vaal, at minimum, five Timeless jewels to use this vendor recipe, or just buy bricked Timeless Jewel from other players.

Timeless Jewel Keystone passives have become a popular feature for many builds, but are prohibitively difficult to acquire (especially without trade). We've moved some of the most build-defining Keystones out of the Timeless Jewels and into the tree itself. These Keystones have been added to the tree: The Agnostic, Glancing Blows, Supreme Ego, Wind Dancer and Eternal Youth.
New keystones have been added to replace the five that are now available on the passive skill tree. The new ones are: The Traitor, Supreme Ostentation, Chainbreaker, Transcendence, Immortal Ambition. Existing Timeless Jewels will retain the old keystones, but if you reroll them with a Divine Orb they will be able to reveal these new keystones.

The following items now allocate to the Map Maker when they drop: Timeless Jewels, Ivory Watchstones, Awakened Gems, Awakener's Orbs, Conquerors Exalted Orbs and Uniques from Legion, Blight, Metamorph and Conquerors of the Atlas bosses.
Mechanics. Glorious Vanity may have “Bathed in the blood of 2536 sacrificed in the name of Doryani.” The number (2536) is the seed, which determines how non-keystone nodes in radius are modified, and the name (Doryani) determines what the keystones in radius will be transformed into.
Players can obtain a non-unique Timeless Jewel by corrupting five unique Timeless Jewels into rares, then selling five corrupted rare Timeless Jewel to a vendor for an uncorrupted rare. Since not every corruption outcome is a rare, players need to vaal, at minimum, five Timeless jewels to use this vendor recipe.
Elegant Hubris removes all mods from minor passives and transforms all notable passives into new ones. Characters are limited to 1 Historic jewel. All unique Timeless Jewel have the Historic mod. Conquered: Transformed passive skills cannot be further modified by other radius jewels such as Lioneye's Fall.
Other watch movements have 21 jewels, and they don't differ much from the settings of a 17-jewel movement. Having 21 jewels only usually means that it has more cap jewels or capstones to keep the jewels from moving and for a more efficient function. Extra capstones can usually be seen on high-quality timepieces.
Lethal Pride adds +2 or +4 Strength to minor passives. In this aspect all jewels work the same. For example if a minor passive gets augmented with +4 Strength by Lethal Pride, then every other variant of the jewel will also add +4.
The modifier on the Militant Faith Timeless Jewel that grants 1% reduced Cost of Skills per 10 Devotion can no longer roll. Existing items with this modifier have had this replaced with a modifier that grants 1% reduced Mana Cost of Skills per 10 Devotion.
Divine orb altar is quite rare. It Like 1/400 Maps when you get an avg of 3 Altars per map. Thats of course just statistically. The quantity of altars depends on the quantity of eldritch monsters you kill.
You can reroll any Magic or Rare quality Jewels (not Unique) by using the following Horadric Cube recipe. The properties you get will be entirely random, but they may be a significant improvement over what you got initially. Jewels and Small Charms are by far the most popular targets of this conversion.
Lethal Pride has restrictions on where or how it can drop. It cannot be chanced. Can drop from the Karui legion in the Domain of Timeless Conflict. Extremely rarely drops from Queen Hyrri Ngamaku in zones.
It's not the jewels themselves that make the watch better but the number of jewels in a watch can indicate how mechanically complicated or in some cases, how thin a watch is.
The 3-digit reference ties in with a common standards chart where number sets dictate the percentage of gold involved. 999, for example, is the purist amount, essentially 24 karat gold with a 99.9999% purity. On the other hand, 750 is indicative of a 75% purity level, better known to most as 18 karat gold.
Many premium watches use more than 17 jewels for better time precision and to reduce friction even more. Many self-winding watches will use 21-25 jewels and having those extra capstones reduce additional errors that can happen over time.
